Next tasting - Friday 13th November
Preet Sahota (Edgmond Wines) - South Africa: A New Dimension
On Friday November 13th the Grand Union Wine Society will have a tasting of new wine discoveries by Preet Sahota of Edgmond Wines.
Preet has given us very successful tastings before from South Africa, which is the main focus of his explorations. This time he will introduce a number of their wines made from grapes more traditionally associated with localised regions in Europe. South Africa has hot sunshine and cool breezes, and offers many locations which are close to ideal for the growing of wine grapes. We will be able to find out how these European varietals perform in their new southern home. In addition Preet will show us a couple of Blake Family wines from the Western Cape. I was lucky enough to taste these at last year’s London Wine Fair; I was impressed, and I hope you will be too.
Preet says:
'Hi everyone, I am excited to present to you all again! The theme for the evening is South Africa: A New Dimension.
This event marks the official UK launch for these wines, including first ever bottlings of unique varietals such as Vermentino, the Italian varietal and Tempranillo, the variety of Rioja.
With unmatched confidence and conviction, explore these new styles and learn about the history of these vineyards. I can't wait to see you all again soon!’
Please make your payment to attend, in the normal way, as described in the attached PDF, by Sunday 8th of November. It is very helpful if you are able to make your payment by the deadline.
If you have not already paid your annual subscription, please do so now, as this was due in September. Again, details are in the attached PDF.
Of course, we are always glad to see you at our tastings, please also consider inviting your friends to come along.
I hope to see you there.
